Each year, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition chooses the best American wines in the world. The competition continues to grow bigger, bringing in over seven thousand entries. This year, Umpqua Valley wineries brought home 28 medals, including three Double Gold, three Gold, 15 Silver, and seven Bronze.
Wineries around here don’t make wine that’s complicated or snooty, they make wine that’s enjoyable and fun. This is where you’ll find world-class wines and varieties including Baco Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Tempranillo and Riesling.
Our wine growers know their craft. Thanks to mineral-rich soils, plenty of sunshine, wonderful valleys and timber-lined hills, the Umpqua Valley has quickly earned a name for itself among the world’s best wines.
